Since 6 April, pensions have changed giving you more freedom to choose what to do with your pension pot.
Once you turn 55, you will have the option to access your pension pot in different ways, including getting a guaranteed income, taking your money flexibly or taking your whole pension as cash.
These changes affect you if:
you're 55 or over, and
have a pension based on how much has been paid into your pot(s) (a defined contribution pension).
Pension Wise is a new government service that will help you go through your options so you can make informed and confident decisions that are best for you and your family.
You can get information and guidance online atwww.pensionwise.gov.uk. You can also book an appointment with a guidance specialist face to face from Citizens Advice.
Citizens Advice is providing face to face Pension Wise guidance from over 500 locations across England and Wales.
Darlington Citizens Advice will be offering appointments from Darlington, Stockton, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar / Cleveland and County Durham.
