The housing advice team assist people to find and settle into decent, affordable accommodation and offer’s landlords a range of benefits and support. The scheme will also offer the tenant advice on finding suitable properties, support when moving in and ongoing support and assistance during the length of the tenancy as required.
How do I qualify?
You must be:-
Homeless or threatened with homelessness
18 years or over
Have a valid membership to the Good Tenant Scheme
How do I benefit?
Will offer landlords a written bond guarantee in place of a cash deposit
Will assist you to find suitable, affordable accommodation
Will carry out a property inspection prior to moving in
Provide advice on entitlement to welfare benefits
Will carry out a full property inventory
Will provide you with ongoing support tailored to your needs
What does the scheme ask for?
As a tenant you must:-
Sign and keep to the terms of your client’s tenancy agreements
Co-operation with the schemes support workers
Respect your neighbours
Keep your landlord and the scheme informed of any changes to your circumstances that may affect your housing benefit and report any repairs promptly
Save towards becoming independent from the scheme
